  • "Ash was our hero! I knew I wanted an unmedicated birth but doubted myself so many times. Ash was a gentle guide, asking just the right questions to allow me to process through what I was experiencing."

    — Lauren B.

  • "Ash was much more than a doula to us. She added care, love and support like family would. She listened to our needs, fears and concerns. Her talent and access to a wealth of knowledge and wisdom was a blessing…Every decision or choice we made was honored and respected."

    — Janelle M.

  • "Ash was a wonderful asset to our labor and birth experience. When I wasn’t sure if I was in labor at all, she came to our house at 2am to help me with comfort measures and to get through contractions. She was available to me for phone calls in the middle of the night and for extra one-on-one time when I needed it."

    — Hattie G.

  • Once hired, I am an open source of information and support for you. In our prenatal meetings, we will:

    • discuss labor, birth, and postpartum options

    • set up your birth plan

    • find which labor prep, comfort measures, and laboring positions might work best for you

    • discuss how your birth partner(s), if applicable, can be actively supporting you well

    • discuss postpartum expectations, general nutrition, newborn care

    • create a safe and relaxed space for you to express and process the spectrum of emotions that flow throughout pregnancy

    • walk through what other specific needs or care desires you hold

  • Beginning at 38 weeks gestation, I will be 24/7 on-call support for you. As labor begins, I will:

    • provide continuous virtual care and assessment until we both feel I should join you

    • join you in your desired place of labor (dependent on location) and provide physical, emotional, and, if desired, spiritual support as you labor

    • provide reminders to you and your partner(s) of helpful information, specific desires, or laboring options

    • guide you through optimal baby positioning techniques

    • travel with you to your desired place of birth when you decide it is time (I can be a guide for when to make this decision as well)

    • remain with you and guide you through transitioning into a new setting

    • provide presence, advocacy, and physical support/encouragement throughout your birth

  • In your first few hours of postpartum, I will:

    • help in every way I can to create an environment for re-regulating your body

    • guide you in beginning your breastfeeding journey

    • make sure you feel safe and comfortable

During our visit a few days postpartum, I will:

    • check in on you and aid in any part of your journey needed (feeding, newborn care, your healing, etc.)

    • guide you in processing all emotions and thoughts of your labor and birth experience

    • help fill memory gaps and share perspectives of your birth story

    • provide service in whatever way is most needed in that moment (housework, heating up a meal, guided meditations, holding baby while you care for yourself, etc.)
