Ash Doty

As I grew up in Northwest Arkansas, I discovered my passion for healthcare early on. I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and pre-medicine, with additional degrees in Medical Humanities and Spanish. During this time, I realized that the type of healthcare I desired to provide is one that supports, informs, and offers continuous care tailored to individual needs. I wanted to take journeys with clients, providing presence, guidance, and encouragement every step of the way.

This aspiration and the gift of education I had been given led me to Bali, Indonesia, where I trained as a Birth Doula under DONA International doulas and award-winning midwife Ibu Robin Lim. In Indonesia, I also began training as a Pregnancy Loss Doula, completing my certification through the Colorado Doula Project. I have also trained in Spinning Babies baby positioning techniques.

I have received my certification as a Health Coach, specializing in Pregnancy Health but available to all humans in all life stages and circumstances. Through supplemental training, I am also informed in postpartum nutrition, another area I am very passionate about!

I know that walking alongside someone in life-changing journeys is no small invitation, and I accept each unique one with gratitude and kindness.

My other passions are cooking and traveling! In my free time, I am usually designing or preparing a new wild recipe to share with others, many of which are inspired by cultures and countries I’ve visited. I also enjoy writing poetry, rock climbing, and playing board games with my husband!

Doula Care

  • Your prenatal time is a precious part of your birth journey. Our time together will be fuel for joy and gratitude for your body and the work it is doing. Through processing fears and emotions, preparing for your labor, and dreaming about your gentle birth, I hope to guide you more into your own confidence for the journey to come.

  • Through many avenues of support, my focus is to empower you to call on your own instinctual ability to navigate this life-changing moment. You are capable of cultivating the birth of your dreams, not because it all goes to plan but because you can remain in your body, listen to it well, and follow the hormonal flow of birth with grace and (yes!) even pleasure.

  • What a special time this is! This is a season of slowness, rest, and beautiful baby snuggles. It’s the season to honor your body and the work it has done (and is still doing) well by providing it the best resources for healing. My role in preparation for these months is to bring you into a richness of those resources. How to rest, how to eat, what to expect, newborn care, community upkeep and boundaries, and so much more can all be discussed in our meetings together.

During our postpartum visit, we can spend time remembering and reflecting on your birth experience!

  • There is no shortage of items on your to-do and to-think-about list during pregnancy. If you desire to feed your working or healing body and the infant growing inside or nursing from it but don’t have the time, energy, or resources to learn how to do that best (and then, of course, cook all of it), this service is perfect for you! It’s designed for you to choose exactly what works best for you - from selecting the exact number of meals you want to customizing ingredients.

Nutrition and Meal Services

I am passionate about food! Food shapes our emotions, our schedules, our attitudes, and our health, making it a pretty important part of our lives (whether we acknowledge that or not). I choose to celebrate food as a wonderfully designed tool that can simultaneously bring us joy and comfort AND nourishment and healing. While food is a major aspect of our overall health and wellness, it’s not the only important contributor. As your health coach, I will walk with you through each aspect of wellness as we learn together what the right next step in your journey should be, diligently honoring your unique goals, experiences, and priorities.*

Of course we all want to be deeply knowledgeable about the food we eat, why we eat it, and how it helps us (or harms us) once we eat it. However, that part of your health journey might not be available or possible at this moment in your life - and that’s okay! You’ve already taken the monumental step of being willing to make a positive change for yourself and/or your family. Let me take this part off your plate! We can work together to find a plan that fits your needs, meals that fit your tastes, and nutrition that fits your goals.

*I understand that the impact food and nutrition has on each person can be monumentally unique. Not every experience or relationship with this topic is positive, and not every client is searching for the same outcome. This is why my approach to health coaching is 100% client-created. I believe that trauma-informed nutritional care is the key to gently strengthening your body and spirit, NOT diminishing them.
